Description

NEAR NEW. Exceptionally rare. Complete with finder, Front & rear caps, original maker’s box. We have NEVER seen such a complete example in our entire history of 30 years. The OP Fisheye-Nikkor 10mm f/5.6 was released in 1968 and was the world’s first lens to project an orthographic image onto the film plane. It was also a milestone design inasmuch as it was the first SLR lens in the world to incorporate the fiendishly difficult to produce aspheric element (as used in the most expensive Schmidt telescope designs). The subjects in the centre of the image appear larger than those at the edges, and the entire field is thus evenly illuminated. The OP creates a round image with a diameter of 20mm. This lens is used on the Nikon F or F2 with the mirror-up and with a separate finder mounted on the accessory shoe (finder supplied with lens). Focal length: 10mm, Angle of view: 180°, Aperture scale: f/5.6-f/22, 9 elements in 6 groups, Filters: Built-in, L1A, Y48, Y52, 056, R60 & X0, Fixed focus, 84mm dia. x 105mm length, Weight: 380g, DF-1 fisheye finder. Please note that the following important points when you see our grading description. When applied to lenses it means that the optics are in perfect condition. What we are describing is the cosmetic condition of the lens barrel. When it applies to cameras, motor drives, speedlights etc. the understanding is that the item is in perfect working order and the description would mean the exterior appearance. In other words we are judging cosmetic appearance.
