18mm f/4 Nikkor AI

£1,265.00

The item photographed may not be the actual model but is used for illustrative purposes only.

Incredibly rare find! With original hood and CL-28 case. Presented at the 1974 Photokina Exhibition the 18mm f/4 Nikkor has an angle of view of 100°, an aperture scale of f/4 to f/22, the closest focusing distance is 12″ (30cm) and comprises 13 elements in 9 groups. The filter thread is 86mm and will accept series IX (9) filters in combination with HN-15 lens hood. It weighs 315g. It combines an exceptionally wide picture angle with a relatively compact and lightweight body, thus effectively bridging the gap between the large ultra-wide-angle lenses and the more compact standard ultra-wide-angle lenses of 20mm and 24mm. In 1977 the lens was converted to AI and the first serial number was 190001. It ceased production in March 1982.

What we are describing is the cosmetic condition of the lens barrel. When it applies to cameras, motor drives, speedlights etc. the understanding is that the item is in perfect working order and the description would mean the exterior appearance. In other words we are judging cosmetic appearance.
