The Nikon MC-22 is consisted of a bottom portion (MB-22B) and a grip portion (MB-21B). Although it looks similar in form and size with an equivalent MB-21 unit, but it is powered by an external power supply. It allows the Nikon F4/F4s to advance the film automatically at an approx. 5.7 frames (fps) per second (with a minimum shutter speed of 1/125 sec or faster). It can be locked to prevent inadvertent shutter triggering which is provided at the bottom section of the hand grip. The secondary shutter release button (this feature is similar to MB-21) permits convenient vertical shooting when the F4 is held vertically. A remote terminal is also provided. The MB-22 weighs approx. 250g (8.8oz).
