Nikon Close-up Attachment Lenses are designed for use with any Nikkor lens having an attachment size of 52mm or with R8 Super-Zoom lenses, to permit focusing at distances closer than the normal focusing distances of these prime lenses. The attachment lenses screw easily into the front of the prime lens, and have no effect whatever on the automatic diaphragm control of the prime lens or operation of the TTL (through-the-lens) light meter.

Nikon Close-up Attachment Lenses are available in three models of successively higher power: No. 0, 1 and 2. While they are designed for use with ordinary fixed focal length lenses, they are adaptable to any lens with an attachment size of 52mm (Note: Use with telephoto lenses is not recommended due to impaired performance).

Focal distances, range of reproduction ratios and the subject field for each lens are provided in the tables printed on the reverse side. As the tables indicate, the longer the focal length of the prime lens and the more powerful the close-up lens, the higher the reproduction ratio.

Notes:

Close-up lenses are threaded on the front to accept filters or lens hoods when required.
In general, the use of a close-up lens results in a marked reduction in depth of field. For best results, stop down the prime lens to at least f/8 whenever possible.
Always focus on the matte area of the rangefinder screen. Avoid split-image focusing, as blurring. As this may result in slight blurring.
When even higher magnifications are desired, the range of obtainable reproduction ratios shown in the tables on the reverse side can be achieved by first attaching a No. 2 close-up lens to the prime lens and then adding a No. 1 close-up lens on front. Combined use of two close-up lenses in this way is not recommended, however, for critical work.
For powerful close-up photography, a selection of PK rings, K rings, bellows attachments and other accessories are available. When especially high definition is required, use of a Micro-Nikkor is recommended.
When a No. 1 close-up lens is attached to a standard 50mm prime lens, use of a No. 0 close-up lens is unnecessary.
For telephoto lenses of 85mm and higher, Nikon’s specially designed No. 3T/4T close-up lenses (for 52mm lenses) or No. 5T/6T lenses (for 62mm lenses) are recommended.

In other words we are judging cosmetic appearance.

Returns and Refunds

All second hand equipment comes with a 14-day Sale or Return period and a 6-month warranty. If for any reason you are unsatisfied with a second hand item you have received from us you may return it for a full refund within 14 days of purchase, the only stipulation being that the item is in the same condition as it was purchased.

If an item is found faulty at the time of purchase your shipping costs to return the item to us will also be refunded.

Where the item has been used within the 28-day returns period, we may make a deduction from any refund if the value of the goods has been reduced

You may return a second hand item for a refund if it is no longer desired or required but please note that your shipping costs will not be refunded under these circumstances.

Delivery Information

Orders placed Monday to Friday before 12pm will be shipped the same day. Orders placed after 12pm or on the weekend will be shipped the next working day.
